Privacy Policy
@ohpinion is a social rating app. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and delete information when you use the mobile app. It is the same policy available inside the app. This website does not create accounts.

1. Who we are
@ohpinion operates the app. Questions about this policy or your data go to privacy@ohpinion.app.
2. Who can use the app
You must be at least 14. We collect your date of birth at registration only to check that age and to apply teen protections. Users who are 14–17 are teen accounts and receive stricter privacy defaults. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 14. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 14, we delete it. See Child safety.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account
- Display name
- Email address, if you sign up with email
- Date of birth
- Username
- Authentication method: email and password
3.2 Profile
Optional: profile photo, bio, and interests or categories you follow.
3.3 Posts, Spills, and media
When you create a post or Spill we store the title and details, category and subcategory, images or video you upload, captions, and the time of posting. Camera, microphone, and photo library access are used only when you choose to capture or pick media. See App permissions.
3.4 Ratings and comments
We store ratings you give and receive on a 1–10 scale, and comments on posts and Spills, including the time they were sent.
3.5 Follows, blocks, and reports
We store who you follow and who follows you, accounts you block, and reports you submit, so we can enforce safety rules.
3.6 Notifications and settings
We store in-app notification records (such as new ratings, comments, and follows) according to your preferences, and settings such as whether your profile is public and whether comments are allowed.
3.7 Sessions
When you sign in we record the device type, the time of sign-in, and approximate location if it is already available from the session, so you can review active sessions. The app does not request GPS or precise location permission.
3.8 Moderation
Uploaded images are sent to an automated moderation process. We store the result: approved, rejected, or flagged for review. Flagged items are visible only to administrators.
4. How we use information

- Calculate community scores and show rating counts
- Deliver comments, follows, and in-app notifications you allow
- Enforce the 14+ rule and teen protections
- Detect prohibited content before it is public
- Review reports and prevent spam, abuse, and rating manipulation
- Let you export or delete your account
5. Advertising
The app may show sponsored placements in the feed using Google AdMob. We do not sell your personal information. AdMob may process device identifiers under Google’s policies to deliver and measure those placements. This website does not show ads and does not set advertising cookies.
6. Content moderation providers
Images are submitted to an AI moderation service (OpenAI) to detect nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, and content that sexualises minors. Content that fails is not shown publicly. Items that need a person are reviewed by @ohpinion administrators. Posts stay pending until that check finishes.
7. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information.
- Other users see what your settings make public: username, display name, profile photo, public posts, Spills, and ratings.
- Hosting and media storage providers process account data and uploads only to run the app.
- OpenAI processes uploaded images for safety review.
- Google AdMob processes data needed to show sponsored placements.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, including reports of child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities.
8. Storage and retention
Account data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. Photos and video are stored as media files used to operate the app. We keep information while your account is active.
9. Account deletion
You can delete your account in the app: Settings, then Delete Account, then confirm twice. We then permanently delete your profile, posts, ratings, comments, follows, notifications, settings, blocks, and sessions, delete uploaded media tied to your posts, and remove your login. You are signed out. If you acted as an administrator reviewer, those moderation records are anonymised so the review history stays intact. Deletion cannot be undone. If you cannot open the app, use Delete your account.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing, and you may have extra rights under the GDPR (EEA and UK) or the CCPA (California). Email privacy@ohpinion.app. We may need to confirm the request belongs to the account.
11. Security
We use access controls on account data and sign you out after deletion. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
12. This website
The marketing site does not ask you to create an account. The contact form opens your email app and does not store the message on our servers. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies here.
13. Changes
If we make significant changes we will say so in the app. Continuing to use @ohpinion after an update means you accept the revised policy.
